Our lodge and campsites give you two different ways to experience Mababe. Stay in one of our air-conditioned rooms, choose the Family Room for a group, or bring your own camping equipment and stay at one of our campsites
Lodge Accommodation
Our rooms give you a comfortable base with lodge facilities, daily housekeeping and access to the main area, bar and other shared facilities.
Self-Drive Camping
Our campsites are intended for self-drive travellers. Each campsite has its own ablution block with a hot shower, toilet, scullery, braai area and 220V electricity.
Stay at the Lodge
Mababe River Lodge & Campsite provides air-conditioned rooms with balconies in the Mababe region of Botswana. The lodge has five Deluxe Rooms, eight Standard Double Rooms and a Family Room consisting of three rooms that sleeps up to six guests.
Executive Rooms
The lodge has five executive Rooms. These air-conditioned rooms have balconies, with additional features including a fridge, outdoor shower and bath overlooking the flood plain and river.
Standard Double Rooms
The lodge has eight Standard Double Rooms, providing air-conditioned accommodation with balconies.
Family Room
The Family Room consists of three rooms and can sleep up to six guests.

The infinity pool overlooks the flood plain and river. Free WiFi is available in the main area and bar. The lodge can accommodate disabled guests on request.

Location
Situated between Moremi National Park and Chobe National Park, Mababe River Lodge & Campsites is nearly halfway between Maun (130 km) and Kasane (250 km). Xakanaxa is approximately 70 km away from Mababe, making it accessible for a day trip. We are also 37 km from Khwai (Moremi North Gate) and just 7 km from Mababe Gate, the southern entrance to the Chobe–Savuti area.

Planning to Camp at Mababe?
Camping at Mababe River Lodge
Our campsites are ideal for self-drive travellers exploring the Mababe region. Campsites 1 to 8 each have their own ablution facilities, while our dedicated Overland Campsite provides facilities suited to larger groups.
Campsites 1-8
Each campsite has its own ablution block with a hot shower, toilet and scullery, together with a braai area and 220V electricity for charging electrical equipment.
Overland Campsite 9
Our Overland Campsite provides a scullery and washing facilities, with two showers and toilets on each side of the scullery.

The campsite is the ideal location to use as a base for visiting Xakanaxa (70 km), 3rd Bridge (±70 km), Moremi North Gate (37 km) and Savuti (60 km). Mababe River Lodge & Campsite is located near Mababe Gate, 7 km from the Chobe National Park entrance. The campsite has its own ablution facilities with hot shower and toilet, access to a bar with infinity pool and free WiFi in the main area and bar.
The campsites are for self-drive travellers. Guests need to bring their own tents and camping equipment, as the lodge does not supply tents or camping equipment. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be arranged when booked in advance.
